I tested my hard drive for defects with manufacturer diagnostic software, and the drive is ok.

I have since deleted the backup partition and re-created it.

A manual backup using the PING 3.0 boot cd worked.

Hi all, I'm performing PING backup on 9 computers at our community centre. 8 of the backups worked, and I checked each computers /tmp/x.log to confirm no problems, however one computer x.log file says there is an error. After trying some drive/partition recovery software to repair the drive, I gave up and re-created partition and formated it. All backups on the ext hard drive were lost. Removed drive from computer, reboot computer, and now the drive works fine. This has happened to me a few times before, seems that...

I see its got an updated version of GRUB which I'm hoping will solve the 99 lilo boot error.
