Trouble with image on multi dvd's

Postby remus » Thu Jan 19, 2012 7:41 am

Hi all,

I have a sysprep image on two DVD's.

I've followed the how to to create each dvd.

Problem is that when I'm asked for the next file, which is on the 2nd dvd. The eject button on the cdrom does not work. I can't get to a console with alt+2 to try the eject comman.
If I try to force the cd tray open with a paper clip, and put the 2nd dvd in. I get an error message saying the next file can not be found.

alt + F2 does not work, so i can't get to the x.log file

Any suggestions welcome.

[ BUMP ]

Anyone ???

I've burn't the image files to another set of DVD's and get the same results as before.

When prompted for the next file

Code: Select all

Can't read the following volume file:
/mnt/cdrom/sda2.006
Enter another full path (directoy & name)

The CD tray did not auto open, the open button does not work.
I can't access the terminal with alt+F2 to look at the /tmp/x.log file

Any suggestions are more than welcome.

I may be onto a solution.

I viewed the contents of DVD1 on a windows xp computer which had its "Hide extensions for known file types" option DISABLED revealing that the MULTI file was infact MULTI.txt
The CD had been generated on a windows 7 machine which had the "Hide extensions for known file types" ENABLED, so I had no idea that the .txt extension was being added.

I'm burning another DVD and will post my results soon.
